- If it is in a nice well shed, use a heat lamp or a heater. Make sure it is in a spot that will NOT cause a fire
- If it is outside, wrap it like it is your child on a hiking expedition to Antartica. Dont forget about the nipple under the pressure switch and the well head.
- If your decide to drip water to avoid freezing, run at least 1 hose on your system on full blast.
- If it is an irrigation system, turn off the breaker and drain the system, leaving the ball valve and hose bib open.
- Our personal plan of action is to fill up our bathtubs for emergency supply, drain our water system by turning off the breaker to the well, opening all hose, bibs and faucets. Dont forget to turn off the water heater breaker or gasline to water heater if applicable.
- If you lose power during a winter storm for more than 1 hour; Do yourself a HUGE favor, turn off the breaker to your water well and drain the system, IT WILL SAVE YOU THOUSANDS!
